"Table for One, 2nd Time"

I have always loved the "girls and their hats" and  recently had a request for another painting for
"Table for One" since the original first painting for " Table for One" had found a home.  I really enjoy trying to give the girls an attitude or a the feeling of a place or event.  I was fortunate to have one of the daughters of
our Double Line Painters model for our group this winter so we could get some on sight sketches and additional photograph's to work from on future paintings.  The painting I call "Watching" was painted with
one of the poses from our painting session and is currently at the Sunset Marketplace Gallery in Calabash,
North Carolina.

This is the initial stage of the 3rd of my most recent
"girls" with the under painting plus collage
started .  I am looking forward to seeing where this painting takes me!

As much as I love to paint, some days just are real downers!
I had begun an abstract painting with colors that really spoke to me, and them the bottle of
acrylic ink turned over on the canvas which was lying on the art table,   WOW!
Yellow everywhere!
But don't give up!  A little hand painted collage papers, swirl of color and a new subject
developed....The results are below,  "The Collection" was born!
Frequently I will put away some small paintings until I decide if I want to develop the painting into a larger one or combine some ideas for a new painting. Below is one I used to combine 2 different styles but colors that seemed to work together.  A little assemblage and the second painting was developed.

Happy Painting!!
