Do you know of a historic or unusual Barn in Bedford County Virginia?
Please help us to identify contacts/locations, particularily in the western
part of Bedford County.  As a member of the Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge, we are planning to participate in the project proposed by the Bedford Historical Society and Bedford County Farm Bureau to promote these significant, unique, and rural resources.  Our artist group will be
working to find and provide paintings of these structures.  The  Bedford barn paintings of participating artists will be displayed in various galleries,
business locations and the Bedford Visitor's Center in August 2014.

Let us know, through this site or the  Doubleline Painters of the Blue Ridge blogsite/emails of suggested locations of Bedford Barns.

Our Painting Group, Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge, had a great time at First Friday in Lynchburg  at the Lynchburg Art Club meeting and greeting lots of creative people and doing "art speak" with  our art friends
at the opening reception for our art show.  It was really interesting to see so much of our group's art work displayed in a lovely setting.  While we
often paint together and have critique sessions, it was so different to see so much of our work exhibited together.  It was a lovely show Patti and her assistant's did a great job hanging the art.

Monday will bring another day to transport art to Bedford and see our friends at Goose Creek Gallery.  It is a very unique Gallery with such a welcoming feel anytime you stop in.  It will be an experience seeing the work of our artists having the "joined canvas" paintings.  I am not sure I have seen but a few of these in progress.  I am looking forward to seeing so many friends at the 2nd Friday Art Walk at
the Gallery.

I decided to rework some of the artwork I had started.
To the abstract color designs I added my reclining figure and
the played with gel applications to give added texture for the painting.  A romantic mix of abstract plus figurative work.
Do you think this works?

Tomorrow is the big day for opening Reception at the Lynchburg Art Club for the Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge.  Bonnie, Midge and Linda packed up and delivered a pile of art to the club and Patti Powers checked everything in.  I hope our Bedford, Forest and Lynchburg friends will stop in to see our art and have a
bit of time to talk to all of us.

Our entire group has been super busy the last couple of months getting ready for the Lynchburg Art Club Show, and next week we will deliver art to Goose Creek Gallery in Bedford for the opening there.
Yesterday we had a delightful time meeting and talking with people at 2nd Helpings Gallery as we
presented a program on preserving your legacy through art.  It was a great time to to creative pieces for sharing memories.
