Painted Papers to Create Interesting Texture and             Movement in Your Paintings

It sure is time for spring.  I am so ready for the warm temperatures, sun
and plein air painting.  In the mean time, I completed the "Man of Style #2"
which is an acrylic/collage painting of a brown pelican.

I have been making my own painted collage papers, using deli papers and
artist tissue papers.  I have torn the papers in small pieces, using directional
tearing to give a depth to the paintings.  This was also used on the
rooster painting  as well.  It is a fun and exciting way to paint and provide depth for the painting.  If you don't like what is developing, just add additional papers or paint over the site you want to change .
